Reflections

Life can sure be a wild and rough ride. Sometimes we find ourselves in seasons of joy and peace, though these more content seasons are often marred by grief and suffering. As I have been working behind the scenes to prepare this website, I have been reflecting on things. Where have I come from? Where do I want to go? What have I learned? What good have I given this earth and the people on it? What do I want to challenge myself with to grow? These are some of the questions that I am pondering.

I have cultivated an attitude of thankfulness and self-compassion while also developed a mindset of thought-life flexibility and resilience. This has been something I have actively worked on during many personal therapy sessions and during the work I put in, between the therapy sessions. It is not easy to do, but it is very worthwhile. I want to encourage those who are reading this to keep at the hard work you are putting in. Keep on learning new skills and recognising unhelpful thought patterns! Keep growing things in your life that nourish you mentally, physically, sexually, spiritually, and emotionally.

We are all on this mental health journey and finding a trustworthy, compassionate, and skilled therapist is a wise addition to your mental health toolbox. I am thankful for the counsellors that have travelled with me. Having someone alongside you to challenge from an unbiased, safe and informed position and also to encourage you along the way, is a deep and rich blessing to your life (your family and loved ones will benefit from the growth in you too!).
